PRECEDENT LAUNCHES TWO AWARDS PROGRAMS

Biggest celebration for small business excellence
ENTRIES are officially open for two national awards programs in the 2025 Australian Small Business Champion Awards–one for trades businesses, and one for professional Services.

Now in its 27th year, this premier awards initiative shines a spotlight on small business operators who demonstrate excellence in their chosen fields. Whether you're on the tools or behind a desk, there's a category designed to recognise your outstanding contribution and achievements.

2025 Australian Trades Small Business Champion Awards

Created exclusively for the trades sector, this program honors the skilled professionals who keep Australia running-from builders to carpenters, concreters to cleaners, electricians to painters, and plumbers to landscapers. There are 39 trade-specific categories, plus four individual honors:

Trade Leader.
Champion Tradie.
Small Business Champion Entrepreneur (Over 30 and Under 30).
Apprentice Champion.

2025 Australian Professionals Small Business Champion Awards

This newly launched program recognises excellence across professional services-from accountants and lawyers to medical practitioners, recruiters, financial planners and marketers. With over45 business categories, it also features five prestigious individual awards:

Leader in Legal Services.
Leader in Accounting & Finance.
Leader in Health & Medical.
Leader in Professional Services.
Small Business Champion Professional (Over 30 and Under 30).

Whether you’re a one-person team or run a crew of 10, your story matters. You don’t need a fancy office or a big social following-just a strong work ethic, good values and a business you’re proud of.

Entry is free and now open online until 30 June 2025.

Both programs are open to businesses of all sizes-from sole traders to growing teams-in metropolitan and regional Australia.

“These awards exist to recognise not only the economic contributions of small businesses, but also the valuable impact to their communities. Even after two decades of presenting these awards, I am still in awe of the resilience and incredible accomplishments of Australia’s small business operators. It’s a privilege to shine a well-deserved spotlight on the achievements of these Champions,” says Steve Loe, founder and managing director of Precedent Productions, the organisation behind the awards since1999.

Winners of each program will be announced at two separate National Gala Presentation Evenings at the Hyatt Regency Sydney:

Trades Awards Gala-Friday, 29 August 2025.

Professionals Awards Gala-Saturday, 30 August 2025.

Each night will host the nation’s most outstanding small business champions, all in one room.

The Awards are proudly presented by Precedent Productions in partnership with Lifestyle Tradie, NOVA Employment, BOA, VJB Group, Xcllusive Business Sales, Castaway Forecasting and Big Clean.
