Population to exceed six million by 2036
CURRENTLY 4.5 million people live in the Sydney metropolitan area, with an estimated two million in Western Sydney.
By 2036, Sydney’s population is estimated to be six million and by 2050, seven million, with most of the growth occurring west of Parramatta.
