The local advertising campaign, which includes a restaurant guide featuring more than 25 local eateries, is part of Transport for NSW’s ‘Activate Parramatta’ plan to support local businesses ahead of and during construction of the Parramatta Light Rail.
The NSW Government launched ‘Activate Parramatta’, a business activation plan for Parramatta Light Rail, in November 2018 to highlight its commitment to local businesses.
Participating businesses along Parramatta’s ‘Eat Street’, Church Street between George and Palmer Streets, are offering ‘Game Day’ discounts and meal deals to celebrate the first game at Parramatta’s new Bankwest Stadium.
A number of retailers and accommodation providers have also joined the campaign.
The local advertising campaign for Eat Street is one of many ways Transport for NSW and the Parramatta Light Rail project are working hard to support businesses before major light rail construction begins.
Local businesses will be supported with regular advertising and promotional activities from April to July.
This is in addition to the existing, free one-on-one business support services available through Transport for NSW, helping businesses develop individual strategies from growing brand awareness to building an online presence.
Stage 1 of the Parramatta Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia and will transport nearly 30,000 passengers per day.
Site investigation works have begun, with major construction to commence from 2020. Parramatta Light Rail services are expected to commence in 2023.
