The Community Grants Program supports not-for-profit groups and individuals within the Parramatta Local Government Area (LGA) whose services or activities benefit the community, including recreation and sporting groups, clubs, arts and creative groups, and social enterprises.
A series of Community Grants Workshops are also scheduled during February to assist applicants with their submissions.
“City of Parramatta is committed to encouraging and supporting the important work being done by community groups within the Parramatta LGA. Last year we provided funding to 39 diverse organisations and individuals through this program,” City of Parramatta Administrator Amanda Chadwick said.
“We are happy to be offering our latest round of community grants and I encourage eligible groups, organisations and individuals to apply.”
Annual grant categories include Community Capacity Building, Growing Social Enterprise in Parramatta, Creative Project Leveraging, Creative Fellowship, and Parramatta Cultural Heritage and Stories Research.
Each category varies in terms of objectives and funding available, with annual opportunities supplemented by smaller grants open throughout the year.
Each quarter, grants up to a maximum of $2,000 are available in the following categories: Small Grants Fund; Parramatta Sports & Recreation; and Social Enterprise Business Planning. Representative Sport Grants are also available all year round, with no set period for applications.
Applications for the 2017 Community Grants Program close on March 6 at 4pm. For more information about the grants or to book for the Community Grant Workshops visit the Living and Community section of Council’s website at:
