Thomas Global has secured a $15M deal as part of a contract with the German integrated technology group Rheinmetall Defence
Thomas Global is recognised as an industry leader in both domestic and international avionics and defence electronics markets, headquartered at Regents Park,
Rheinmetall contracted Thomas Global to design and manufacture the CRV Immersive Tactical Trainer system to be used to train Australian Army personnel of the 211 Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles.
The first 25 vehicles will be built in Germany as part of the technology transfer process, with the remaining vehicles to be built at the company's specialised Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Queensland.
Boxer will replace the ageing vehicles that have served with the Australian Army in East Timor, Afghanistan and Iraq.
The Thomas Global deal expects to generate 20 jobs and demonstrate how Western Sydney businesses were benefiting from major Defence contracts, the government said.

Thomas Global Systems, established in 1956, supports key Australian defence programs, including for the Collins Submarine, Hawkei armoured vehicle and produces a variety of advanced avionic display products used in a wide range of commercial and military aircraft cockpits.
Elsewhere, Thomas Global Systems has appointed Merv Davis to the company’s advisory board.
Mr Davis has extensive experience in the Australian and international defence industry, including in chief executive, operational, strategic and technical roles.
Most recently he was CEO of CEA Technologies and has held senior executive roles with BAE Systems and Saab Australia.
