CBA continues WSABE sponsorship

COMMONWEALTH Bank will continue as major partner of the 2013 Western Sydney Awards in Business Excellence (WSABE).

“For the past three years, we’ve been excited for the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the success of outstanding local Western Sydney businesses,” said Mark Couter, General Manager Corporate NSW/ACT.

While Commonwealth Bank is actively involved with the Western Sydney community in various ways, the WSABE offers an ideal way to celebrate, and give back to, the business community, said Mr Couter.

“As we work in such close collaboration with business owners across the regions, we understand and appreciate the immense commitment and hard work that goes into making them a success.”

Through WSABE, the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce showcases the outstanding business innovation and excellence within Western Sydney.

“Being involved in the awards is your opportunity to be proud of what you are doing for yourself and your community,” said Mr Couter.

Commonwealth Bank has significantly grown its presence in Western Sydney over the last five years, with new business centres and more business specialists on the ground.

The bank is now one of the region’s largest employers, with over 5,000 staff living between Homebush and the foothills of the Blue Mountains.

“Our customers benefit from business centres staffed by dedicated Relationship Executives, backed by industry and product specialists with a deep understanding of the business landscape in Greater Western Sydney.

“The advantages for businesses are the ability to access valuable specialist advice from a team with the knowledge and experience to help them with their day-to-day finances as well as the bigger issues, from growth strategies to wealth protection and succession planning,” said Mr Couter.

The 2013 Business Woman of the Year Award, sponsored by Commonwealth Bank’s Women in Focus business community, celebrates Western Sydney business women.

Karen James, General Manager Affiliate Business Banking, said, “Through Women in Focus, we invest in understanding the importance of women in business and support their unique needs. We open doors for women offering opportunities in various ways, from business connections to study tours of Silicon Valley. WSABE is the perfect way for us to celebrate the contribution women make to Australia’s third largest economy, Western Sydney.”
