THE new toll-free motorway for easy connection to the future Western Sydney International Airport has reached a major construction milestone, with works now underway for more than a year.
The new 16km road is on track to open in 2026,] and is a $2B investment in Western Sydney being funded by the Australian and NSW governments.
Expected to carry 52,000 vehicles per day by 2036, the new road will have connectivity via Elizabeth Dr to the east and The Northern Rd to the west.
Current works are being delivered by contractors Seymour Whyte along the central section and CPB-Georgiou Group Joint Venture through the western section of the future motorway with more than 2000 people being directly or indirectly employed.
