WSABE merges with South West and doubles in size

THE 2015 WSABE Awards has merged with the South Western Sydney Awards making the awards the premier business event in the region.

The Parramatta Regional Awards for Business Excellence was established in 1991 and transformed into a regional awards program in 2009 when it was renamed the Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence.

This year, WSABE has combined with the South Western Sydney Awards which was previously hosted by NSW Business Chamber.

“As hosts of the WSABE, we’ve welcomed the opportunity to bring the entire region together under one main awards to celebrate business excellence,” said Roger Byrne, President of the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce.

The Awards recognise outstanding businesses by showcasing their achievements and exposing their excellence in the business community.

“Winning the 2014 WSABE Business of the Year Award allowed our clients and peers to recognise Coleman Greig Lawyers as a key leader in the business community of Greater Western Sydney,” said Warrick McLean, Chief Executive Officer of Coleman Greig Lawyers.

Many success stories have followed the winning of a WSABE Award including the 2014 winner of Excellence in Innovation, BugShop, which was featured on the popular TV show, Shark Tank.

“The unity of the region through the Awards reinforces the region’s driving economic force and provides an opportunity for businesses in Western Sydney to collaborate and develop stronger relationships,” said Mr Byrne.

“As the Premier mentioned last year at the Gala Dinner, the Awards bring together the business leaders who are vital for the success of the region."

The 2015 WSABE Awards is launching Friday, May 8 at DOOLEYS Lidcombe Catholic Club and will host Western Sydney mayors, members of parliament, award partners, business chambers and business leaders.

Registration for award entry will open online following the launch.

To enter, businesses have to submit their proposals through an online portal from the WSABE website where more information is available about the various categories and eligibility.

The 25th edition of the WSABE Awards is hosted by the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce and the Launch function is sponsored by DOOLEYS Lidcombe Catholic Club.
