The Sydney-based bestselling author, a yoga practitioner on the sides, says she hopes her latest book provides readers meaningful entertainment.
"We all have a lot of things pulling on our time, and entertainment is important to give us some relief and joy," Sophie says.
"If someone also finds meaning in the stories, that's wonderful. I hope to offer readers something that can be read either way – light if they want light, with some substance if they prefer that."
Reviewer Joanna Nell says Sophie’s latest novel is 'like snuggling beneath a warm beach towel after a bracing dip in the ocean' while The Australian Women’s Weekly described it “heartwarming, fulfilling and Australian as a lamb roast and full-bloodied shiraz”.
Join Sophie as she delves into the heartwarming and intricate lives of the four women in her latest masterpiece.
Set in the 1980s, Cynthia, Lorraine, Elizabeth and Kathy joined a Noosa Heads gardening society to help others in need and discovered the society isn’t only about growing flowers, but a place to find identity and community.
Sophie’s other novels in the top ten bestseller list include The Shelly Bay Ladies Swimming Circle, Thursdays at Orange Blossom House, and The Bellbird River Country Choir.
You can hear more from Sophie in person at the event organised by The Hills Shire Library Service to be held at Pioneer Theatre, Level 1/14 Pennant St, Castle Hill on Wednesday, September 20.
Hachette released her latest novel in July, and you can have a signed copy of this inspiring tale to take home on the night.
