PENRITH SCORES NSW OPEN

Council does deal for three years
PENRITH will host the NSW Open Golf Championship for the next three years thanks to a new sponsorship agreement between Penrith City Council and NSW Golf.

From 2017-19, the NSW Open Golf Championship will be played at Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club with this year’s event to be held over four-days from November 16 - 19.
Speaking at the announcement event last week, Penrith Mayor John Thain said he was thrilled to be partnering with NSW Golf on one of Australia’s most prestigious golfing events.
“As a proud sponsor of the NSW Open Golf Championship we’re looking forward to welcoming golfers from across Australia and overseas and to showcasing Penrith to them and thousands of visitors, “ Cr Thain said.
Cr Thain said seeking out and forming these types of strategic partnerships is a high priority for Council, with Penrith expected to reap significant economic benefits as a result of this new sponsorship agreement.
“This three-year sponsorship will inject more than $1M into the local economy and will promote Penrith as an exciting visitor desination to a very wide domestic and international audience,” Cr Thain said.
